Battery Back-Up: Upgrade your garage door with battery backups to ensure operation during power outages. Most garage door motors offer optional battery backups.

Belt Drive: The connecting pole from the garage door to the motor, rotating the belt upon command to open or close the garage.

Bottom Rail: An attachment on the bottom panel where the weather seal is affixed.

Cable Release: Internally attached to the manual release, extends through the garage door to connect to a key release, ideal for doors without other access points.

Cable Drum: A solid steel drum holding the cable in place to balance the garage door.

Cables: 3-, 4-, or 5-core cables linked to the cable drum and torsion pole.

Chain Drive: Similar to belt drive, the pole from the garage door to the motor rotates the chain to open or close the garage.

Colorbond Pens: Used to conceal small scratches on the garage door, recommended for minor areas.

End Bearing Brackets: Also known as flag brackets, these hold the torsion pole and cable drum in place.

Ferrules: Clamps for cables to achieve the correct tension for the garage door.

Front Pulley: Works at the end of the chain or belt, providing an anchor point for door operation.

Garage Door Motor: Fixed on the ceiling, syncs with the remote control to command the door’s opening and closing.

Gear Drive Assembly: The sprocket around which the belt or chain rotates to open the door, housed inside the motor.

Grommets: Small rubber vibration absorbers used to mount the motor to the bracket, limiting vibration during operation.

Hinges: Connect panels, varying from central to side hinges to accommodate rollers.

Jambs and Flashings: Fixed to the side tracks, providing an anchor. Flashings are made from COLORBOND steel to match the door colour.

Keypad: Similar to a remote control but uses a key code for door operation, ideal for households with multiple users.

Light Cover: Covers the light(s) on the garage door motor, customisable for various settings.

Logic Board: Internal to the motor, it serves as the command centre, syncing remotes and determining settings.

Main Drive Shaft: An internal pulley connected to gear drive and limit actuators, a crucial component of any garage door motor.

Manual Release: A pull cord, button, or switch allowing manual operation in case of motor issues.

PE Beams: Installed on either side of the garage door with an internal photo sensor to identify obstructions, overriding the motor to prevent accidents.

Pelmet: A COLORBOND steel strip used on doors with low headroom to conceal gaps in the sectional door on the opening.

Rollers: Secured with an end hinge, these sit in the track, enabling the door to open and close.

Sectional Garage Door: Divided into sections or panels, ranging from 4 to 6 panels, each made to measure.

Remote Controls: Devices attached to keyrings or car visors that operate the garage door. Wall remotes can be mounted in proximity to your home.

Torsion Springs: Tight coils of galvanised and non-galvanised steel, secured horizontally across the top for sectional or panel doors, at both sides for tilt doors, and internally fitted horizontally for roller doors.

Torsion Pole: A solid steel rod around which torsion springs are fixed.

Weatherseal: A rubber strip preventing wind, rain, debris, etc., from entering beneath the garage door, also leveling the floor.

Weight Bar: Added to sectional garage doors to address balance issues with torsion springs.

White Grease: Lithium-based white silicon grease providing long-lasting lubrication to torsion springs.

Windbraces: Internally fitted metal struts fixed horizontally across sectional door panels, the number increasing with door width.

Windstruts: Internally fitted metal struts fixed horizontally across each panel or section of the door.
